Sale of Blyyd to Meridiam
Meridiam, through its Green Impact Growth Fund (GIGF), has invested €5 million in Blyyd to support the company’s next phase of growth.
Based in Lyon, France, Blyyd designs and manufactures purpose-built electric yard tractors for logistics and industrial sites, enabling trailer movements and optimizing yard operations.
Founded in 2015 by Damien Gambey, the company has developed a fully integrated solution for yard logistics electrification, combining vehicle design, deployment and maintenance services. Blyyd primarily serves high-intensity logistics platforms operated by leading retailers, logistics providers and industrial companies.
Blyyd’s solution is specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of logistics yards, where vehicles operate continuously within constrained environments. Its yard tractors combine a native electric architecture, swappable battery technology and intelligent monitoring tools, ensuring enhanced safety, uninterrupted operations and optimized fleet management.
As supply chains continue to expand and intensify, logistics yard operations account for a significant share of both logistics-related emissions and operating costs, making them a key lever for decarbonization. Purpose-built electrification solutions are therefore essential to reconcile operational performance, emissions reduction and climate objectives.
With more than 160 tractors deployed across 100 sites, Blyyd has established strong relationships with blue-chip customers and is expanding across Europe through a growing network of distribution and service partners.
This investment will primarily support the industrial ramp-up of Blyyd’s next-generation electric yard tractors. It will also contribute to the company’s commercial growth and accelerate its international expansion across Europe.
Meridiam will support Blyyd’s development by leveraging its European footprint and ecosystem across infrastructure, logistics and mobility, facilitating partnerships throughout the battery value chain and improving access to logistics platforms.
